One ID for Africa. Yours.
The Federal ID is a number that says a person is a member of Federal Africa, and how far their identity has been verified. It is issued by OFIS, the Office of Federal Identity Services.
What a Federal ID is
A Federal ID looks like FA-52-00000123: two digits for a member state, eight for the person. It belongs to one living person, for life, across every Federal Africa service and every registered partner.
Who issues it. OFIS, established by Federal Africa as the authority that issues and maintains the Federal ID. It is the single source of truth for whether an ID exists, what level it holds and whether it is active.
What it proves. That OFIS has issued this number to a person; the member state it was issued under; the verification level earned, from 0 to 3; and whether the ID is active, suspended or revoked.
What it does not prove. Legal identity, below Level 3. Creditworthiness, ever. It is not a bank check, not a passport, and no partner can see your documents, photographs or name through it.
What stays with you. Which partners may read which facts about you. Each partner asks for your consent, attribute by attribute, and you can withdraw it from your portal at any time.
Four levels, earned one at a time
Level 0, Unverified
You have a Federal ID account. Everyone starts here on signing up.
Level 1, Basic Verified
A real, living, unique person: a short face video reviewed by a person, a phone number confirmed over WhatsApp, an active membership.
Level 2, Strong Verified
Known in person to the community: vouched for by two verified members, or checked by a coordinator, plus an activity check-in.
Level 3, Institutional Trust
Legal identity confirmed by an optional identity document, reviewed by two people at OFIS.

Identity here, community there
This site and the identity service live on federal.africa, the official domain. Membership, payments, news and governance live on the community platform, federalafrica.com. OFIS never handles money; the community site never handles your identity evidence. The boundary is deliberate: you learn to approve identity access only on the official .africa host.
